Proper paddling technique is the best strategy for prevention of shoulder injuries. But good flexibility and a balance in torso and shoulder musculature are required to protect the shoulder from injury. This instructional session will address techniques to employ in reducing injury risk and will describe exercises that are helpful in recovery following shoulder injuries whether resulting from traumatic events or those from overuse mechanisms. |

Shake off Saturday night with this awakening some union suit yoga before you hit the river on Sunday. Grab your thick skins, bunny suit or long johns and join Wet Planet Instructor and Femme 45 paddler, Susan Hollingsworth, for this 45 minute yoga class to help get your blood moving and the laughter rolling.
You’ll twist, strengthen and stretch muscles specifically fatigued by kayakers and rafters, helping you to maintain a healthy body for years of river enjoyment. And because we all want good lines, we will learn how to tune our mind into the present moment and reduce anxiety in stressful situations…like at the lip of that waterfall you’ve been dreaming about.
No matter how you descend the river, this class will help you learn techniques to relieve pain and target key areas to increase your body’s athletic potential on the river. Most of all, it will be a great way to start your river day off with some smiles.

This particular course will break apart the basics: eddy turns, paddle strokes, bracing, ferrying and more! You will leave with a better understanding of each movement you perform and when, where and why you do them. Join Wet Planet Whitewater instructor and River Angel, Heather Herbeck, along with Susan Hollingsworth, WP instructor for a fun, empowering experience on the water! |
