Upper Clackamas Whitewater Festival - Shoulder Injuries

Prevention & Returning To Paddling

Saturday - 1:00 - 2:00 PM

Eric Boggs addresses this very important topic. He will discuss shoulder injuries and how to treat them on the river.

Proper paddling technique is the best strategy for prevention of shoulder injuries. But good flexibility and a balance in torso and shoulder musculature are required to protect the shoulder from injury. This instructional session will address techniques to employ in reducing injury risk and will describe exercises that are helpful in recovery following shoulder injuries whether resulting from traumatic events or those from overuse mechanisms.
